  2. There are now a whole host of proggies that can make S/VCD chapters.

If you want to spend lots of money, VideoPack5 is pretty good.

If you want to do it better and in freeware ( ), then use VCDImager +/- one of the GUIs (e.g., VCD Easy or TSCV).

I believe that Sefy has a newbies guide somewhere on this site from start to end on making a VCD with chapters using VCD Easy.

I create a guide on the theory and practice of authoring chapters on S/VCDs using VCDImager here:
    http://www.geocities.com/medinotes/vcd/chapters.html
    http://www.vcdimager.org/guides/chapters.html (mirror)

If you are a beginner, I strongly suggest you read the above link to understand how VCDs work and what limitations there are. Then, unless you are really brave, try using one of the GUIs like TSCV or VCD Easy. Once you get comfortable with how it all works, try manually editing the XML yourself. Once you've got it worked out, you'll be amazed as the power and flexibility of doing so.

    Good luck.

    Regards.

  3. Hmm, so those "How To" links that are to the left of the board actually have info that tells you "HowTo" do things related to VCD, SVCD, DVD, and that sort of thing?

    Cool! :D
As Churchill famously predicted when Chamberlain returned from Munich proclaiming peace in his time: "You were given the choice between war and dishonor. You chose dishonor, and you will have war."

  5. Yup, there is a Classical Guide which covers you from start to finish and it includes Chapters (but not subtitles!), and you can access it here:

I hope you will find it easy as possible, I keep updating text there so it will be easier to understand.
