I have been doing encoding on an anime trailer that I ripped from DVD. I use DGindex to make a .d2v project file and then I use MeGUI to encode the footage to H264. After completing the encoding (IVTC included in the AVS script) I noticed various substantial blocking artifacts throughout the video such as this:
The blocking is very evident in the attached clips. I tried using the regular Deblock() command but if I set the strength to high it dulls the colorization of the video. In general there is too much blurring int the footage, which is very surprising as it is X264 (H264). Does anyone know an avisynth plugin that would be best for deblocking and sharpening the video?
