    I've downloaded a movie file with replay media catcher.
    Its 1.13Gb and this is the info I get for it in MediaInfo

    There are two things I do not understand ..
    How is this file is a video file but its extension is mp3?
    and why I cant manage to play it with vlc..
    Could it be that its protected or something?

  3. Anybody (or any program) can rename a file with a different extension.

    You have an MPEG transport stream file with AVC video and MP3 audio. You need a TS file reader/splitter, an AVC decoder and and MP3 decoder. The easiest thing to do is use a player that has those things built in, like MPCHC, VLC, KMPlayer. If you want to play them with WMP you need to get the appropriate filters: Haali and ffdshow should do.
