    Hello

    I've got a set of AVI videos that I want to burn onto DVD's to watch on TV. The size of a DVD is 4.7 GB. I tried to send 4.2 GB worth of AVI files into it to burn (about 6 of the files), but it said that it needed 1.8 GB more to burn it.

    I then tried sending the files in one by one. After I sent three avi files (size 1.94 GB) and when I tried to send in the fourth (352 MB) it said that it needed 120 MB to be able to copy them.

    I've normally not had this problem before. About a year ago, I copied about 8 AVI files to a DVD (it was about 4 GB and the total duration was about 6 hours) and it worked splendidly on my DVD player.

    Is there anyone who could let me know to send the maximum number of AVI files into the DVD to burn?

    Thanks as always!

    Filesize = bitrate * duration

    Lower the bitrate if you are determined to squeeze it all in, albeit at the expense of quality.

    What program are you using to burn the avi's on to the disk ?

    This does sound like a sessions problem where you have data on the disk from a previous session i.e. it is not empty.

    Thanks for all the hints everyone.

    I tried to do it again in my dad's computer and all 8 got copied.
    I think I solved the problem too. my drive C had very little space in it left. Therefore, the temporary files could not be stored, thus the no space messages.

    Thanks very much again everyone for all the replies!
