    Hi
I'm trying to add .srt subtitles to an NTSC dvd using DVD-Lab pro. As usual I create a subtitle stream, but all the timings in the resulting subtitles are messed up.
In Media Player Classic I can turn on the newly created subtitles and also add the original .srt subtitles at the same time. The latter is fine while the former is all messed up.
I actually remembered reading about this issue like a year ago and it has something to do with converting time marks into NTSC frames.
Also tried txt2sup + muxman, same result. Is there any way around this thing?

Ok, I did find a way out. If someone has the same problem, the latest txt2sup and muxman work fine. Well, almost fine. The subtitles got shifted somehow, so I did the opposite shift in Subtitle Workshop. Then it turned out that the subtitles' stream goes a little faster the video stream (adds up to about 4 seconds in 1.5 hours). So again, had to adjust the .srt file in Subtitle Workshop and mux the DVD again.
    Good luck.

  3. If they're playing faster and about 4 seconds off by the end of a 90 minute movie, then somewhere along the line your subs got converted to non-drop frame timing (30fps), from the original drop frame timing (29.97fps). Check around in whatever you're using to create the subs. Except for Muxman, I don't use any of the programs you mentioned, and I create a lot of subs but never have this particular problem.
