I captured a video from my camcorder with my Radeon's Video In 7 program, the only format it lets you save the video in is MP2. I made a 2 minute video, and it's 18MB! What's up with that? Is there any other program I could video capture to that would allow me to save it as a DIVX or AVI file that's more compressed? TIA.

1-try VirtualDub and use the DivX codec
2-set the datarate in MPEG2 to a LOWER value...you can do this with the ATi capture software under MPG2 custom config
3-an AVI file will not compress as much as MPEG2MOBO: ASUS P4P800 Deluxe

I went into the video capture program and set it to use medium quality MP2 which is 4 Mbps. Will that reduce the size of any future files I record? Thx again.

yes, but, 4MBPS is still pretty high. Video quality still looks good down to 2.5-3 MBPS. Below that , it gets pretty blocky.

I believe that was the lowest setting I saw. There was a setting for MP1, but that's so old it probably don't look good. I can check again later.
