  1. Hello Everybody,

I have been using Windows Media Encoder 9 series for a while but I am not getting the perfect quality as broadcasting on h264 at the same bitrate.

Does any body knows how to improve the live stream quality using WME9 (750Kbps)?
Is there any plugins or filter I can use to achieve my goal?

    Please help.

  2. WMV3 simply isn't as good as h.264.

  3. I know. I was asking if there is a h264 plugin or codec that will work with windows media encoder 9 (WME9)

  4. Microsoft's video tools are mostly designed to lock you into Microsoft codecs.

  5. Window Media Encoder seems the best available WMV encoder especially when tweaked with PowerToy, I think Digital Rapids appliance use the same Windows Media SDK that WME use for WMV encoding.

The WMV9 codecs, although relatively-slow, can be very good,

IF the end-user knows very well what he/she is doing.

The WME GUI is confusing and messy, to say the least.
The CLI interface is more "straight-to-the-point" IMHO.

    Anyway, regarding the OP's question,
CBR @ 750kbps is (or should be)*optimal* for VCD-resolutions and framerates only.

N.B.: *optimal* is not the same as "acceptable",
    and "acceptable" is a point-of-view.
