I have been trying to capture from an s-vhs vcr for quite some time with my Visiontech Xtasy Everything using virtualdub. I would capture a minute or two and all of a sudden I would get 20-30 dropped frames for no particular reason. One video (25 mins. in length) would produce 300-500 drops when capturing at 720x480 raw avi. I searched through the vcr menu and just for the heck of it turned off the "Video Stabilizer" option and then I got 5 dropped frames during the whole 25 min. cap!!! The drops occured only when I stopped my video camera and the recording went to blank tape noise. I am elated with my newfound capturing ability and I hope someone out there (pulling their hair out)benefits from my discovery!![]()
