  1. Umm.. This problem, I remember seeing years ago too, so this maybe a common question.. But I can't put the problem myself into words, hence I can't even search for it..

    Btw, before anyone suggesting me some other format for using, please know that srt subs are a MUST!... So, I can't change it..


    See the problem is that when I created the subtitle, in notepad, it is displaying " ' " but when I view the video file, it displays -- >



    And it also displays some other character for ".", and subs contain a lot of these, so it gets irritating..

    I hope you can help in solving this..

    Don't know about the TM script but I would suggest that you download a few of the srt subtitle programs from the tools section of this site and run your SRTs through them and see what happens.

    You mentioned you created the subtitle, but did you create it or did you convert it from another format?

  3. Try loading the .srt in notepad. Then do Save As... the drop down under the filename should show the current encoding. If it says Unicode or UTF8, set it to ANSI instead. If that doesn't work experiment until you find out which encoding works for you. That's usually the issue with text subs.
