I have difficulty playing some AVI and DIVX files on this player using a USB stick (FAT 32)
It recognises and plays perfectly, files of about 700Mb file size but fails to play
for example a few converted files (avi and DIVX) which are over 2Gb file size.
The menu brings up the title of the movie but will not play it.
I suspect there is a maximum file size when using USB but there is no mention of
this in the manual.
Can anyone please confirm whether there is a maximum file size when using USB
If so, I can only think of one way around the problem and that is to split the
files up in which case can anyone please recommend suitable software for
doing this.
Thank you for your assistance

Most Divx/Xvid enabled players will not play files over 2GB. You can split them with AVI Demux or Virtualdub by removing the half you don't want and saving the rest, then repeating for the other half. Or encode to fit under the 2GB limit.
