    Hi
I used "MPEG Wizard" (5.0.0.109, Womble) to edit/cut my family movies from my camcorder. I prepared 10 movies (mpg files).
I imported them to DLP (2.5), demux all and 3 files (movies) has 0-GOP.
During compile DVD I received error - I can not proccessing authoring.

Why some files are not OK and another OK?
I would expect that all will be good or all will be bad.

I had a look back through some old support threads at the mediachance forums (thanks to google's cached websites, but there wasn't anything really definitive. Damaged or missing timecodes seemed to be the most likely cause, but the solution offered always seemed to be to re-encode the source.

My take is that either the original clips had a problem, or Womble created the problem while editing. I can suggest a couple of things to try, but there are no guarantees.

    1. Try loading the original mpeg files (or at least one of them that a problem file was cut from) into DLP as an asset. This will at least tell you if the source is the issue.
    2. Try running one of the o-Gop demuxed video streams through ReStream to see if it corrects the problem
    3. Assuming that your source is OK, try re-editing with Womble and testing the assets again

If all this fails, try re-encoding the problem segments with a good encoder (hint : Womble is not a good encoder)

i've used womble and dlp for years and have never even heard of that type of error. i'd be guessing it's a cam problem not a womble one. the only way i can think there would be a 0-gop would be a clip of under one second.

please use mediainfo on one of the bad ones and post the text output here for us.

It looks like he is using the new Womble 5, so it could be a new bug . . . .

They must have upgraded, or they have it poorly configured, because up to and including Womble 4 the encoder was a butcher. Haven't tried to encode with Womble 5 because of previous experiences. Mainconcept is a plugin encoder, and the configuration is left up to the host program. If it is poorly configured, even a good encoder can produce shite.

  7. Yes Womble 5 has upgraded from their piss-poor encoder to Mainconcept.

    sorry, I was absent (holiday

    My tests result:
    - All files from camcorder have 0-GOP in DLP.
    - Womble 4 doesn't read files from camcorder.
    - Anoter software eg. TMPGenc reads corectly files from camcorder and from Womble.
    - ReStream don't repairs (don't fix).

I have resolved problem in DLP.
I have used DLP Tools: "Reduce MPEG size", set eg. 90%.
Now DLP shows corectly movie time (no 0-GOP).

    I enclosed export from MediaInfo.
    1. camcorder file
    2. Womble 5 file.

    thx all

DLP Tools have transcoded the video. You could have doen the same thing by re-encoding with tmpgenc or another encoder (I like HCEnc for quality and price), or even Womble 5
