  1. I have replaced menus using the guide located on Videohelp (extract menu for editing and re-inserting) and it works fine for a still menu. However I have for the first time tried to edit a motion menu.

Everything went fine as in the steps; extracted using PGCdemux, edited the menu, muxed back together with Muxman etc.

The problem is the menu is 1 minute and includes not only the "main" menu but then all the chapter scenes menus, extras menu etc. So this is not an issue until I try to re-insert the menu using VOBblanker and go to the original menu to "replace".

When I choose the correct menu PGC (there are 34 cells to it) Turns out that I cannot just select this menu at that point and choose "replace" (there is no replace at this point), I have to then go to it's cells and then the menu to replace is spread out amongst the 34 cells and of course I cannot replace it then because I only have the one muxed VTS?

I know this sounds confusing so hopefully someone out there knows what I mean by all this?

There's your mistake. In addition to ticking 'Menus' in PGCDemux, you also have to tick 'Single Cell' (as it shows clearly in the guide pic) and demux only the menu(s) you wish to edit.

  3. OK, that solved that part but now have a new problem.

I replaced just that cell in VOBblanker and everything appeared ok (the times matched fine) - I did a full process of titles & menu to a different folder and upon opening up the title in PGCedit and checking the menu it now shows the "chapter scenes" menu (which was the next cell) also it shows "96" buttons instead of "100" so basically my "main menu" the one I edited and replaced in VOBblanker does not show up in PGCedit, it's like VOBblanker blanked the menu I was replacing instead of "replacing" with my edited one.

  4. You're not too good at following clear instructions, are you? Did you read and follow the part about exporting menus and color schemes in 1. Exporting, and then importing them back into the completed DVD in 6. Importing?

  5. Yes, I did the export\import part. That was such a basic step I failed to mention that I did do that.

I did find the issue however; when re-opening in PGCedit (9.2) and selecting the "menu" button, I failed to navigate to the correct menu using the "navigator drop down" at the top. I suppose it defaulted to the first menu with buttons (my "chapter scenes" menu) because at that time the "main menu" didn't have any buttons at all.

    Thanks.
