  1. Hi Guys,

So I think I have got the codec issue resolved, however a returning problem that I have dealt with before has emerged. Yes I have read over my old posts about the issue, however, the versions of the software have advanced since then and for me it's been a long time since I addressed this.

I am using VirtualDub-1.9.9 and when I import my .vob file, it displays as 29.97 FPS. To my knowledge it's a 23.97 FPS. In the past I turned off a flag pulldown and that seemed to fix the problem. However, that was an older version. For the life of me I cannot find that option in the newest version that I am using.

I used vdubmod and it displays correctly the FPS, however the audio errors out of control.

So I guess first I just want to see if I can get the version of VDUB that I am using to use the correct frame rate. And beyond that, help with keeping the audio in sync. I got some good information on it once before, but again that was with older versions. Plus, I'm a little lost with that part.

    Thanks guys.

  2. First, all VOBs output 29.97fps. Sure, it may have been encoded as progressive 23.976fps but it couldn't have been authored as a DVD without pulldown being applied to make it interlaced 29.97fps. VDubMod ignores the pulldown flags so it's seen again as 23.976fps. As you say, there's a way to turn off the flagging in VDub, but someone else can help with that I'm sure, but I don't use it, and certainly not for importing VOBs. Much better would be to make an D2V project file using Forced Film in DGIndex, and then making an AviSynth script file for frameserving into VDub. Then you wouldn't have the problem as it'll automatically be seen as 23.976fps.
