  1. I have a mkv movie that has a default language other than english. I want to get rid of the other languages other than english. Do I have to encode the video again or is there a fast way to make these updates? Thanks for any help.

  2. I'd use HDConvertToX. You should first analyze the file with MediaInfo and post the results. Anyway, here's what I do for an MKV with X264 video:

    1) Add file in HDConvertToX. Analyze file.
    2) Crop & Resize tab: No Resize & Crop.
    3) Video tab: Encode Using: X264 in MKV. Encoding Mode: Copy Video.
    4) Audio tab: Encode Using: Copy Audio.
    5) Audio & Subs Selection: Uncheck all audio except the stream you want to keep. Same for subtitles.
    6) Specify where to save the new file and give it a title.
    7) Generate Encode.

Despite the terminology used above, this won't re-encode anything, but will remux a new file with only those streams you want. There are other ways to do it, but that's what I do. Good luck.

Easier way is to install MKVtoolnix and add the mkv to mkvmerge GUI and uncheck the unwanted language and save under a new name,no encoding needed.
    I think,therefore i am a hamster.
