Help, I downloaded some anime, and they have 2 audios. One in english and one in japanese. I can watch it fine with VLC but I want to convert it so I can watch it in my PSP or mobile... is there a way to convert it so it only chooses or converts the english part and not the japanese part? In VLC the japanese part is Audio 1 and the enlish is Audio 2... Help..

Plenty of programs here to do the job but you need to know what your dealing with if anyone is going to name such programs.

Grab gspot > File > Open (locate video file) > Open, wait till gspot has checked the file > post a screen shot of the window (alt + print screen) ... then you'll be directed to suitable programs.

  3. If you remove the other audio track before you convert, the software has no choice but to use the only one remaining . e.g. if it's mkv use mkvtoolnix, if it's mp4 use yamb to remove the other audio

I have the same problem. After converting and choosing English only, it still recorded the Spanish track.
I can play it on computer using Powerdvd when choosing 2nd audio.
I cannot play it on my stand alone dvd player because there is no way to choose the second track.
    Gspot pic enclosed.

That's why, as poisondeathray mentioned, you remove the audio tracks you don't want before you convert.

Your standalone DVD player doesn't have an Audio or Alternate Audio button on the remote?
If cameras add ten pounds, why would people want to eat them?

I should have said that I did choose English only before converting.
My dvd player does have an audio button and when pressed it shows English, but Spanish is playing.
    Very strange.
This is the only dvd that I have ever had trouble with.

  7. Did you check to ensure the audio was correct first ? (ie. play the audio alone before authoring) Maybe it was mislabelled ?

If there is only 1 track, and it sounds like English before you author, there is no way it will magically convert to Spanish

I just played the dvd in a different dvdplayer and when I pressed "audio" it gave me choices for second track and that worked.
    Thanks for all who replied.

When I converted to dvd using dvdshrink, it only showed English track, and yet it still played back in Spanish.
This may not make sense, but that is what happened.
Anyway, I tried it in a different dvdplayer and the audio button allowed me to select the correct track.
    Thanks for your help.
