Hi,
I am curious to know how to setup wireless streaming of contents from PC to TV using media players like PlayOn HD, WD live media player etc. Since I am planning to buy one, it would be helpful if I know in advance if their PC to TV streaming capability can be achieved by me.
My desktop has windows XP (SP2) and I have Samsung 29" flatron TV. Broadband connection is through MTNL . Will this be ok? Please guide me with step by step process of it using HD media players? Any recommendation which HD player I should go for: WD Live, PlayOn mini, Xtreamer?
Thanks
Mohit

I think for hd you need to have wifi N for it to have enough bandwidth. If you are lan than it doesn't matter.
But all you have to do is follow the boxes on screen setup to connect. You will just give it your wifi's network password and connect. As long as your server is up and running it should find it automatically. At least that is how it works on a wired system. I have a 360 and ps3 hardwired to my pc. I have playon and tversity up and running. When I go to the video tabs on the game consoles the media servers are available so long as my pc is turned on.Donatello - The Shredder? Sorry yoda313, I am novice for these technical terms.
My desktop has windows XP (SP2) and I have Samsung 29" flatron TV. Broadband connection is through MTNL . I don't have any server. Media players like WD live, PlayOn HD and Xtreamer claim that they can stram video files/music/ pictures from desktop PC to TV wirelessly. They do not mention any about need of server or wifi N
Since My desktop PC is on first floor and TV on ground, wired connection is not a possibility for me. -
My choice would be based on knowing what video codecs are already on the "Intermediate Device" ie WD LIve PlayOn/HD mini etc.. The less transcoding has to be done the less demands will be made on your computer and the more video types will stream directly through the network router to your device. The PS3 does the job too like the WD Live but it only recognizes a limited number of video/audio types. The PC has to re-encode the data so it will be recognized by the PS3. Also if you want HD make sure it can handle 1080P and that the wireless adapter is at least wireless N 300 for range and that it is included with the device.

There's not much to do but then I can't do much anyway. -
I have purchased rcryan playon hd along with xtreamer 11N wireless antenna. Peron from whom I purchased said it can stream upto 4GB of content from PC to TV via playon flawlessly.
USB antenna is : http://www.xtreamer.net/accessories/wifi-usb-antenna.aspx
Will it work with normal wifi router connected to dektop PC ?
