    For a while i've wanted to make multi-window videos, mostly for music.

    here are some examples of what i'm trying to do on my own:

    Maybe AVISynth. One article here: http://www.fauskes.net/nb/avisynth/

    I don't use the program that much, but others here do and can probably put up some better links or offer some tips.
