MKV Codec for Realplayer?

Hello,

I was wondering if there is a codec to play mkv files with Realplayer 11. Right now I can only play them in Media Player Classic Home Cinema and I can't stand it. There's no features and it doesn't do well with seeking with mkvs or any file for that matter. Could me my system, but right now this is all I've got so i need something else. Is there a codec or alternative player out there?

I haven't seen many problems when seeking in MPCHC except with corrupt files. Look into the configuration options: View -> Options -> Internal Filters. Make sure the Source Filter for the file type, and the TransForm Filters for the codecs are enabled.

I'm curious about what features RealPlayer has that you're missing in MPCHC?

@lordsmurf The new VLC wouldn't play any videos for me. Will an older version work?

@jagabo Well Realplayer has an eqaulizer (I'm a music fanatic), a built in dvd burner for those stubborn rm files that I have to burn to dvd because they won't play and it can record streaming video from youtube and other sites.That's the most important feature I need as I get a lot of HD music videos from youtube. Plus, eventhough this won't matter to most people, I like to use skins. I can't do that in realplayer, but I can with other players. I never liked any version of windows media player or the way they looked. As for the internal filters it's only listed under source filters and it's unchecked. I'll check it and see if that helps.
