  1. I have a 32GB thumbdrive that is about2 months old... It was working fine however recently when I'm copying files the thumbdrive will display the error halfway through a file copy that the drive is write protected and the copy will abort...

    There is no "write protect" switch on the drive...

    I've tried formating as FT32 & NTFS (did not do quick format)... I've tried it on two of my Windows 7 computers at home, my Linux pc at home, my XP computer at work and my Win 7 Pro at work... All with the same results...

    I don't have this problem with my 3 other 8GB thumbdrives...
    Any ideas or tips...

Try using USB WriteProtector and just select USB write protection off, these days manufactures are saving money by not having a switch on the USB sticks, so you need to use an application to switch it off, the common cause for write protection switching it self on is, disconecting the USB stick before finishing a transfer on it, thus it locks it self to read only.

  4. Any utils to check if there is damage to a thumbdrive? chkdsk /f reports none....
