  1. Is it possible to send video to Sony Vegas via Virtualdub frameserver? I need to apply some Avisinth scripts and VDub filters on a video in first step and put some text using Vegas features before encoding it to mpeg2.

I tried it doing the same procedure I use to encode in TMPEenc. Unfortunaly it didn't work. Vegas say that avi dummy file isn't valid... With TMPGenc always works well.

Do you know how to do it? I mean, apply scripts and filters in VDub and later put text stuff using Vegas?

Or is there another way or workaround to do that?

    Cheers.
    Thank you.

  2. You can use VFAPI reader plugins, but if you're doing AVISynth scripts, why go through VDub? There are AVISynth plugins that do the same thing as the VDub filters. Do it all with AVISynth and frameserve to Vegas. check the FAQ for more info.

I don't know about AFAPI reader. Good to know that. I'll try it out. I need to go through Vdub because NeatVideo plugin cannot run with Avisynth.

  6. In my experience, the only consistent way of frameserving IN to vegas avisynth virtual file system (AVFS) . MakeAVIS from ffdshow is 50/50 (sometimes works) . You can frameserve OUT of vegas with debugmode frameserver
