  1. When you download videos from Amazon, there is an option to download files in portable format in addition to the larger .wmv files.

    The portable file is in .amzn format, usable on only a limited number of players.

    Can .amzn format be converted to a more universal format?

    upload a sample to a hosting site if you want anyone to be able to check them. not a popular format to say the least. if they are copyright or drm protected nevermind.

    I did a quick search and I couldn't find anyone who seemed to know what amzn format is. My guess is that it's some kind of DRM format and as such can't be converted. I did find one reference that claims that some videos are available as un-DRMed WMV files. You might see if that's the case for your video.

  5. Since the .wmv version of the file does have DRM, I suppose the .amzn version does, too.
