  1. I've been trying to look for this feature, but with no success. The question I'm asking is what file do I need to insert into the Nero Svcd burn process to make the DVD player automatically play the next disc in the CD tray. I have a Pioneer 5 Disc Changer DV-C503. An example of what I'm asking for is in the Svcd release of Lord of the Rings or Brotherhood of the Wolf. The thing that happens with this multiple cd movie is that once cd1 is done playing, the next cd automatically begins to play, without me having to press the button to go to the next cd. This procedure is helpful if you have many discs that make up just one movie.

    Any info is greatly appreciated.
    Thanks

Mine does that on the Pioneer as well. Any time you play multiple VCD's in a row without opening the tray it will do it. However, if you eject it, it resets it's play mode and you have to "put it back" in VCD mode by manually starting your first disc again. I believe the "1st" VCD puts it in PBC (or Playback Control Mode) this then lets it autoplay the next discs.

I have no other ideas outside of these observations from mine. Hope this shed some more light on it

Why don't you just use the remote control!?! you know thats what its for! atleast you don't have a 1 cd dvd player and have to get up after the first part of the movie! Some people are just never satisfied!

  5. Use VCD Easy to make your SVCD.

Under options, uncheck "Use Playback Control (PBC)"

The discs will act more like audio CD's when they play. When one disc ends, the next will load and play (on my Pioneer DV-C603).

Another advantage is the player display will also show you the track numbers while playing these discs instead of "PBC".

I don't know of a way to turn off PBC in Nero.

  6. You can use PBC to chain a number of VCDs together in playback.

For example, it will start playing the next disc when the current movie is over, or after some sort of user interaction (e.g., from a menu). The benefit in using PBC is that you can use menus and chapters in your discs.

The only proggy I know that can author this is VCDImager and I don't know if the two GUIs (VCD Easy and TSCV) can utilise this feature. Thus, it may require you to do some research and edit the XML yourself.

I personally don't have a multidisc player so I've never tried authoring this. If you are interested, I suggest you read the documentation at the VCDImager site: http://www.vcdimager.org
