I was wondering if changing the colorspace to YUY2, it would output to YUY2? Why I ask; well, when I start the encoding process, HC Encoder (though it states now that the input is in 4:2:2 colorspace) still displays the chroma conversion (in the settings area) as 4:2:0.

I just want to know if I'm really changing the script commands for nothing. Thanks, John.

Well the mpeg/dvd standard is 420, so one way or the other, that's how it' going to end up.
(That's my understanding of it anyway).

  3. MPEG 2 does support 4:2:2 chroma subsampling but few encoders or decoders support it. And it's not DVD compatible.
