I have a Cannon that takes HD movies in .MOV format. I'm using Ubuntu Studio (based on lucid). What do I need to do to convert these files to ANYTHING that I can edit? It seems most editors will read them, but playback (while editing) is slowed down and not in real time. I tried Kino, but it converts it to .dv, which turns it from 1280 x 720 to 720 x 480.
I'm playing around with KDEnlive, but having the same problem with SLOW playback when editing (.mov) files. I have AVIdemux, but don't know what options to set to get a file out that I can edit.
Any ideas?
Try StreamFab Downloader and download from Netflix, Amazon, Youtube! Or Try DVDFab and copy Blu-rays! or rip iTunes movies!
