I have a DVD that only has one episode but for some reason it is split into two chapters. When you play back the DVD you don’t notice this. But when I ripped the DVD with DVDFab I notice there are two main chapters.

I want to rip the episode and then use handbrake to convert it but I can’t figure out how to unite both chapters so I can get one single converted file in the end.

I tried the customize and merger features in DVDfab but the resulting rip always has to separate chapters.

    Any help is appreciated.

If it's been ripped to iso you might try using fairusewizard.

you could use vob2mpg to join the vobs into one mpeg-2 then import that into handbrake.

    Thanks for the suggestions.

Do you know if this would preserve the subtitles also?

in fairusewizard you just need to specify that you want to include the subtitles.

If you have two mkv files why not try mkvmerge

I tried both Fairusewizard and vob2mpg and I didn't get the results I wanted. Vob2mpg creates two separate files. I want to take one vob and combine it with another vob to end up with one single file that handbrake can see as one.

But I think I will try the alternative suggestion to just merge the MKV files.

vob2mpg should create one mpeg if the vobs are in the same vts. if not put the vobs in a folder by themselves and rename them vts_01_1.vob and vts_01_2.vob then run it.
