The average noob thinks resolution is important but the pro knows video quality depends far more on bit rate. Youtube sends "1080p" at sub DVD bit rates. That is why it looks so yuk. Better to send 720p or 960p at the same bit rate and let the display upscale to native resolution.

Who has a 4Kx2k capable screen? Those that do (CAD Workstations) have smallish screens. Watch from 6 inches?

How many display cards realtime rescale 4kx2k in hardware?

  4. I would rather have Silverlight(instead of Flash) and a longer time limit(10min is ridiculous), besides you will need a i7 and a highend GPU to watch it.

the 4k video file bitrate is a little over 6mbps. looks ok displayed in a web browser player at about 800 pixels but no where near enough bitrate for a true 4k display. it would look like crap.

i have a pretty good pipe here and it was youtube that couldn't keep up the upload. they averaged maybe 4mbps out, causing it to pause twice while playing.

    i think i'll stick with uploading/watching 720p video.

    @ aedipuss
    - i agree.

What is audio specs? How many channels? What is the audio bit rate?

I watched Life in the Garden (4k resolution) there is barely any audio. Plus it seems that lower resolution pirated version is transcoded back at higher bit rate coz if you look at the details of video it is blurred and dark too!. It barely bears real 4K crispy crystal clear picture quality.

Nice try to bring back butterflies flied from YouTube to Facebook.

I still stand by 720 being the best youtube option. 1080 looks like crap as there isnt the bitrate. 4k!? hahaha really they need to get over themselves. I actually have a monitor that i use that is capable of resolutions higher than 1080 (i cant reach 4k though). Still plenty high enough to see how horrible it is. The bitrate is a joke, the idea of 'streaming' 1080 was a bad joke in the first place and now this!

    Quality Video

Once replying to media interviewer Que Cube - a prominent video sharing website CEO replied "What do you expect me know much about quality of video as my major degree as Vet from CheatTricks University from Star Island. Video, to me is some visual - something moving on screen with some sound. Personally, I never heard words like Grundig, Marantz, Tandem, Eurostar, Yamaha or Roland. I just keep enjoying what other people upload to my site. When ever I get too stressed, I go to my back yard farm and listen to natural music from buffalos Bhhooo....Bhhooooo...Bhhoooo... It's much pleasant and so relaxing."

original link to watch video could have been much appreciated.
    might be worth collecting.

    further more it's AAC.
run noise analysis and specturm analyser to see difference between AC3 (5.1+) and AAC (5.1+).

Yup, thats what i expect it to look like, i've worked with quite a bit of 2k and some 4k in the past, I find it hilarious what they are saying. Even more fun is all the comments of people evidently watching it on a 10" laptop screen saying"wow the detail is amazing its so good!"

What youtube are trying to do is impossible, you cant even stream 4k over a LAN let alone over the net to all platforms like they want to/

Youtube is already the bottom-feeder of video quality.

How is this a change from the norm? (It's not.)

I think youtube is best-viewed in HD 720p rather than 1080p. It doesn't function at all.

"Native size" can be up to 4kx2k but the user chooses stream rate. The Youtube server then adjusts the bit rate. Max compressed 1280x720p can be handled with about 2 Mb/s internet connections.

There is no advantage to loading 4k on YouTube unless you are doing demos with enterprise level internet connections.
