    Hello,

I'm still unable to remove commercials from HD movies (MP4). I have tried many applications, all crash when or after indexing: Avidemux, SolveigMM Video Splitter, etc...
    Could you help me, please?
    Thanks,

Thanks. I installed it but when I import an HD video, I get an error message saying that that version (the beta version) doesn't support H.264/AVC streams. Any other suggestion?
    Thanks,

a search in the tools section for cutter found a few you should try:

    h264ts_cutter
    haali media splitter
Donatello - The Shredder? Michelangelo - Maybe all that hardware is for making coleslaw?

The GOP cutters work pretty well for MPeg2 broadcast video with 0.5 second I frame spacing (12 frame GOP for PAL). MPeg4 (h.264 or proprietary) presents a more difficult environment for developers since standards vary enough to require extensive testing.

Worst cast are "download" HD files which often have long unpredictable GOP lengths and creative use of variable bit rate.

    Thanks. Here are the results:

h264ts_cutter: It freezes when cutting off sequences
haali media splitter: There's no option to cut off sequences

@edDV: I didn't understand. Did you suggest a specific application?
    Thanks,

    Thanks,
I was pointing out the difficulty of offering one for MPeg4. Do you want to invest?

There are many for MPeg2 broadcasts such as HDTVtoMPeg2.

  9. I use tsSniper (free) to remove adverts from H.264 transport stream captures. It works fairly well with a little practice.

For example, set to "Scene Mode", and clear top right panel. Look for the transition beginning the scene, then back up one step (use the default seeking intervals on the sliding scale at bottom right, ~0.2 second IIRC). Set mark-in. For the scene end, find the transition and back up approx 3 steps, and it should be reasonably close. Set mark-out. Save scene and repeat. This works well for HD-PVR captures, you may have to experiment.

No it's *NOT* frame accurate, but you can get quite close with practice. Good enough for cutting adverts, IMO. In settings set preferred splitter to Haali AR.

H264ts_cutter? Sorry, it's...poor. Cuts introduce a lot of annoying noise. Nothing else free comes close.

    Good luck.

I use VideoReDo TVSuite with my Hauppauge 1212 PVR files and it handles the h264 streams fine. Here's a link to their web page with the latest blurb:

First use media info to get info. For edit AVC H.264 try this: MeGui>Tools>HD Streams Extractor (demux/index video), rename *.264 to *.avc and import in sony vegas or try MainConcept Reference
