I just bought the Pioneer DV-444 and although it works excellent with DVD's, I encountered a problem with SVCD. I tried to play Lord of the Rings in SVCD format and although I got perfect sound and cristal clear images, the images are in black and white!
Maybe it is a stupid question, but could anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong/overlooking, or how to solve this problem?
Thanks!
Steve.

Your Pionner DV-444 plays SVCD.
Look in the website below some tests.

Maybe you made something wrong when you converting to SVCD.
Well, If your image is black and white I make 3 questions:
1) Your DVD Player plays PAL or NTSC or BOTH?
2) What system color (PAL or NTSC) did you convert your .AVI?
3) It's your TV PAL or NTSC or have AUTO SYSTEM COLOR?
Bye
