  1. I'm using PV256C capture card...wanna find out what's the best setting of bitrate...VBR/CBR....etc to capture MPEG2 file...(for SVCD) and later on...may convert them to VCD format...coz...other ppl may not be able to play SVCD for their players!

    Please help...since I have problem to find good overall info about this
    I'm just newbie who can't figure this out easily ... hehhehe thankssssssss

    Depends how many cds you want to use. Use CBR at SVCD's maximum bitrate to keep the quality, but you will use more cds.

    VBR is good if you want to squish it down into less cds.

  3. What about a one hour VHS with a lot of fast action (karate tapes )...
    Should I use VBR? or CBR? and should I use the highest bitrate for my capture card? (in this case, PV256c can do higher than 10Mbps...) and then use TMPEGEnc..to convert it to SVCD and VCD format?
