Changing mp4 container to avi

Hi all,

I've been using mp4cam2avi to "recode" mp4 files into an avi container and so far it works great. Today though I've been running into some problems even though my workflow has not changed at all. Some files just crash the program no matter what settings I choose.

Comparing these files in g-spot to others that work hasn't given me any clues, since the workflow is the same all files look the same.

Is there another program that does the same job as mp4cam2avi for changing container without re-encoding?

The crashing error that the program gives me is: Thread error: Invalid pointer operation

Could be your MP4 are corrupted, try DivFix++ on them. Handbrake should work too.

Edit: Use Handbrake to replace mp4cam2avi.

I would try Avidemux to save the video in another container (video: copy, audio: copy).

I tried but all I get is the green screen of death, same with Vdub.

How can I get rid of that green screen anyway, is it file related or is fddshow acting up?
