Hi all,
If someone can read the sectors from any JVC 160GB model HDD, I can try to restore mine, I think there is no need to backup the whole 160gb image to restore, just some parts!
The tool I used was Winhex, goes fine with the HDD thru usb adapter.
The info I am looking for is situated (is starting from)
sector: 305 000 000 or Offset: 245BDC8000
If You can save this section starting there and going up to the end of the disk.
Winhex : tools - open disk,
Then,
edit - define block and give those 2 offsets 245BDC8000 and the max end value ( it is specific on your hdd heads configuration)
Then from the same menu: edit - copy block -into new file. That's it.
Should be lots of zeros around, so to compress the file better.
Thanks a lot

I'm starting again my struggle to restore my JVC-DVM70.
I'm trying to rebuild the JVC DVM-70 file system,
after reloading the initial firmware image on another new HDD! (same model)

Seems I was on a wrong track until now, that part of file system HDD image is not really needed( is located at the end of HDD).
There is a software able to rebuild the file system, is called Jvc Adviser Pro cd.

Well, I'm looking for that piece of software, the jvc adviser pro cd
or the BOOTUP1.BLX file to burn-it on cd. Anybody can help?

 Thanks!Last edited by dvd4met; 21st Aug 2010 at 17:21.

I have the disk0001.bin file 364 MB (381,681,664 bytes) for the JVC Adviser Pro CD, downloaded from http://www.digitalfaq.com/forum/vcr-repair/2422-jvc-adviser-pro.html
Does anyone know how to burn a CD from this? Nero says it is not a valid image.

 Thanks for any help,

 Colin

	Dear aedipuss:

If you bothered to actually read and understand this rather than just get all high almighty, you would see that the thing it brings to the party is information on the JVC hard disk reformatting disc, which is directly related to the original question. Now what your reply has added to the subject is much more questionable.

 Some people are all mouth.

 End of conversation.
