    Hi all.

I have a couple of old VHS tapes where the audio and video quality is pretty much as it always was, except that the colour has gone - and I mean completely, the entire films are now in Black and White, but with no further loss of audio/video quality.

Just wondering if this was something that could be restored somehow, or should I just give up on them and go buy a DVD instead (neither cassette is more than a decade old, the oldest is Moulin Rouge).

  2. Could this be a playback issue? e.g. Have you tried another VHS player? or maybe some connection issue?

Aye, checked in several VCR's just to be sure, and through different outputs (SCART/Composite/RF). Definitely seems like a problem with the cassettes themselves, but it's a new one on me!

  4. Moulin Rouge is selling at $9.99 at video store.

Or you can digitized it thru video capture, and increase the contrast when you format it for DVD. Free encoder likes TMPGenc can do that.

Righto. As I'm currently without a functioning capture card I'll bite the bullet for now and replace them with new DVDs. Chances are I'll come back to them later and use them as practice.

Thanks for the help - never expected it to come so quickly. =)
