There is a big difference between a monitor and a TV when it comes to how movies and video are presented. TVs have a lot of specialist circuitry built in to improve the presentation of video that monitors don't have (or need) which is why monitors are so much cheaper. I have never seen video played form a PC on a monitor that matched the quality of video played on a good TV.
