  1. Am facing a strange problem while playing the file mentioned below with MPC/CCCP. The Video playback is lagging behind sound. Playing with VLC is hopeless. What might be the reason behind this nuisance

Try more players, like smplayer. It has builtin codecs.

    Or it could be corrupt.

It might just be your processor is too slow to play the video in real time.

Yeah, I play all types of files. This Tualatin processor still works like a charm.

    @Baldrick

    a) VLC - can play but the video frames are getting struck. Audio out of sync.
    b) MPC - Plays with excellent video quality ( 704x400, AR: 16/9) but Audio out of sync
    c) Tried SMPlayer just now: Plays the video with excellent quality AND Audio is on sync too but the Video is getting struck for every 2-3 secs of playback

I am unable to get what might be the problem here. I don't think this almost 9 year old PC (Moms) Hardware is the reason because I can do all sorts of things. Example:

Re-encode the same file above to Xvid (1800 Kbps quality). Tool used: iWiSoft Free Video Converter (superb one)

I did re-encode some 10 min of playback time (it took some 50 min. LOL) to cross-check whether that AVC has any issues or not. Xvid output file works like a charm. But, why doesn't this AVC file play

Note: Same file plays very nicely on my i7-860 Workstation.

When I can play this file then why not those files

    Filename: MotoGP.2010.Round04.Mugello.Qualif.EurosportUK.x26 4.English.mkv
    Filesize: 844 MiB
    Format: Matroska
    PlayTime: 01:26:20.520
Application: mkvmerge v3.3.0 ('Language') built on Mar 27 2010 09:34:43
    Application: libebml v0.7.8 + libmatroska v0.8.1
    1 video stream(s), 1 audio stream(s), 0 subtitle stream(s).

    Video Stream 0:
    Length: 01:26:20.520
    Frames: 129513, 25.000 fps,
    Codec: V_MPEG4/ISO/AVC (Family: )
    Dimensions: 640x368, AR: 16/9

    Audio Stream 0:
    Codec: MPEG1/2 L2, A_MPEG/L2, MPEG1 or 2 Audio layer 2
    Sampling Rate: 48 KHz
    Channel(s): 2 channel

Is it something to do with HIGH frame rate of those files

The file you are having problems with (704x400, 59.940 fps) will certainly require more computing horsepower than the one that works (640x368, 25fps).

Even I suspect the high frame rate...but I tested the same file with Xvid re-encoding with 704x400 & 16:9 AR. It played lovely with MPC as well as with VLC. So frame rate might be issue or is it something else...

    UPDATE:

Tried BS Player FREE and GOM Player. BS Player is the only thing which is doing good, if not the best. GOM was close but not on par with BS Player. But my point is when they can play why not MPC with CCCP
