Hello, I have a problem with a video file that I have received . The file is a .mov file that will not play (The sound will play but not the video). Now I am more concerned about trying to convert this file into something else (Such as flash) to view on the web. The problem however is that A)The conversion software does not recognize the file type or b) It converts it without the video but with sound still being heard.
After doing a bit of research I came across a piece of software that gives me info about the file. It said it was using an "Intermediate codec", which I assume is HDV? Is it possible to convert this into something else that I can use such as a flash movie file?
Any help is appreciated, cheers!

It is the Apple Intermediate codec, which is, I believe, kind of like cineform/neoscene - a slightly lossy codec that is easier to edit than AVCHD. I also seem to recall it being only available on the Mac, and not included in the Windows version of quicktime, so you may have to find someone with a Mac have them convert it to something less proprietary and more useful.

Hi, thanks for your replies. I downloaded and installed that software and this is what it shows:
I guess that means that is it AIC and that I will need to get someone will a Mac to convert it? -
icod is the fourcc for Apple Intermediate Codec. You need a MAC or a friend that has one, you can't do this with a PC
