I'm looking for a recorder that has a good 3D Comb filter and possibly a pass-thru so I can send the cleaned-up video to another capture device. Is there anything like this out there or am I just dreaming?

Some of us have high hopes for the latest affordable contender, the ATI 650. It has a 3D comb filter but since I Just bought this USB2 version last week, I haven't tested much capture. Just trying to get it to work for SD/HD broadcast first. There is also a similar PCIe model.
When reading the box at Fry's, the ATI 750 PCIe card promised GPU hardware acceleration when used with an ATI HD series display card. But I think the 750 lacks an SD tuner and maybe SD capture. I haven't done the homework.
PS: I'd be all over this if I hadn't been burned by ATI promises a dozen times in the past. Money isn't the issue so much as wasted time. I need user confirmation. Your turn.Last edited by edDV; 14th Jun 2010 at 22:20.

Toshiba used to sell DVD recorders with a good 3D comb filter, but I haven't seen it mentioned in the features list for anything recent from them.
