The codec installed normally. The right files were copied to the syswow64 automatically and the codec is reported everywhere correctly. The problem is I get blank black recording in CamStudio and the file is crashing media players.

    Edit:
I guess there's something wrong with the codec. I just tested it in VirtualDUB. I loaded up a png image, made tens of frames of it, set up compression to huffyuv in full processing mode, no audio and saved as avi. Every player crashes on the avi.

Have to go. See you in no less than 8 hours...

Huffyuv 2.2.0 is crashing on my system and I can't get any other version listed in CamStudio. 2.1.1 MT is not crashing. I already tested it. I'm now using the x64 install procedure http://www.digitalfaq.com/forum/showpost.php?p=11627&postcount=3

Now I did another cleanup and installed 2.1.1 just to be on a safe side. It shows everywhere but in CamStudio. I also tried different CamStudio versions.

It looks like I'm on a mercy of... randomness.

    EDIT:

Huffyuv RGB capture => Vegas 8-bit mode => Export uncompressed AVI works fine. You can take this RGB uncompressed AVI and encode with x264.
    New questions/problems
    1. Ahm... Why should I mess with other lossless codecs to get RGB to SV when CamStudio lossless codec originally operates in RGB?!
    2. There is no way I know of to tell in SV MS 9 weather I am in 8-bit mode (pixel format field not present).

I already uploaded my first AVC test vid to YT and I came up with at least one conclusion but I'll wait untill I upload at least one more vid with different compression.
