A while back, I picked up a ATI TV Wonder HD600 PCI card with the hopes of converting a bunch of old home made VHS tapes into .avi files and then DVDs. But, I was never able to find a good software for capturing with this card. I have basically no experience with this kind of thing. So, I really don't know what I'm doing. Could someone point me in the direction of a good program (or programs) that might do the job. Any help (including tutorials) that anyone can provide would be very appreciated. Thanks.

Use Catalyst. I plan to make a tutorial for this next month.

What he means is use the software supplied with the card, download it from ATI if you didn't get it. The ATI capture utility is just fine and it can capture directly to MPEG2 (DVD format), but if you need to edit the capture you're best capture in AVI. You can then use your video with any editing or authoring software to make DVD's.
Get it here:

If your OS is not 7, look for the one you need in the column on the left.Last edited by nic2k4; 13th Jun 2010 at 15:10.

I am using Windows XP. Is this the proper software: http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/windows/10-4/Pages/tvtuner_mce-xp.aspx

OK, I installed the software but I'm having a hard time finding the program to open it. It looks like it was just drivers. I installed the control panel too...but I can't seem to make it work.

You're missing ATI Multimedia Center; use the direct link.
It looks like your card doesn't come with that; it wasn't offered for download with the driver. I don't know if it will recognize your card. You can always use other software to capture, VDubMod is a good choice. There are others too, look through the guides to learn more. -
Catalyst MMC is what you use for that card -- not ATI MMC. Confusing, I know.

OK, I got it all installed...but now I go into the program and I click "TV" and it says no tuner device found. The card is in there...and can't imagine I messed it up. Any ideas?

VirtualDub and GraphEdit work well with all Ati Theater chips.
