  1. Hi All, I am new here and have got a couple of questions. I have converted a Divx movie (300 megs approx) to Mpeg1 (800 megs approx). I then cut it in two with TMPGEnc and burned it to disc. I will be viewing this on a Dreamcast (i have to original on VCD but that player broke and i heard you can play VCDs on a dreamcast so i tried to convert it for that). The problem is the picture is very bad. I was not expecting a great picture but this is very bad. Does anyone know of a way of getting a better picture. Could this have anything to do with the framerate of the Divx movie. Any help would be very much appreciated.

  2. Dreamcast sucks at playing VCDs BUT it is ok at playing just a straight up MPEG-1. boob.co.uk goto user files and get GypPlay. Follow instructions on there but basically u burn the gypplay files along with mpeg-1 or avi(no divx or odd codec) and ur done. but follow instructions on site not from me

  3. From my experience, gyplay is not very optimized to play VCDs on the dreamcast. Some of my conversions would work and some would be jerky. They recommend using a VBR rate of 800k-900k. But at this rate, video quality is barely acceptable.
