  1. I am trying to convert a *.mov file to an mpeg or avi, i have downloaded RAD video tools, but it always corrupts during the installation.
    Any ideas or other freeware programs to try would be brilliant

  2. Have you tried the TMPGEnc program that everyone raves about here? If you look at the HOW TO CONVERT section there are tutorials on how to use it and a special config file that you have to download for quicktime files. I haven't tried it yet personally but have used TMPGEnc and it is great.

  3. Yes, ggenglish is right.
    Get the plugin for TMPGEnc. It works flawlessly.
    However, I always end up with a mpg file bigger than the original MOV file (when keeping the quality/resolution)...

  4. because MOVs have a better compression scheme then MPGs
