Sony DVD and BluRay players are among the most difficult players in the world to hack. Many (most?) cannot be hacked. It's almost impossible to hack anything they sell in the USA and Canada.

I've never heard of a hack on any Sony BluRay player that removed DVD region checking. Such hacks may exist, but I've never heard of any.

Hardware changes by the manufacturer may break hacks that worked on the past. Also, while there are not many hacks at all to remove DVD region checking on BluRay players, I've not seen any that work on any players sold in North America. I've only seen hacks that work on players sold in places like Australia or maybe some parts of Europe.

Most likely you will not be able to unlock this player.

What exactly does that mean? Do you have an unlock code you can share with the original poster?
