Hey guys, I'm pretty new to burning DVDs, and need some help here.
Ok, here's what I want to do: I want to burn a two or more videos onto a DVD, to show at my "drive-in theater" I'm putting together. Right now, the plan is to put the following vids on the DVD: Preview, main feature, and intermission. The feature movies are one other discs in VOB format, while the other vids are stored on my hard drive, in .flv and .divx formats. Can anyone tell me how to go about this task?
Another question... I downloaded the intermission vids from archive.org. The site says they're in MPEG4 format, but the ones I downloaded have divx extensions. In simple terms, what's the relation between these two formats? It seems that the more research I do on this, the more confused I get.
Thanks in advance, and please, no flames. Respect your elders.![]()

Reauthor with an all-in-one dvd converter. Use vob2mpg to get one mpg from the vobs. Then put togeter all video files in the all-in-one converter. The free dvd flick or convertxtodvd might be enough for you if you don't need any advanced menus. If you want more advanced menus use dvdstyler(free), tmpgenc authoring works, nerovision.

From the "Glossary" link at the upper left corner of each Videohelp.com web page:
MP4

MP4 is the global file extension for the official container format defined in the MPEG-4 standard. MP4 is streamable and supports all kinds of multimedia content, multiple audio-, video-, subtitlestreams, pictures, variable-framerates, -bitrates, -samplerates...) and advanced content like 2D and 3D animated graphics, user interactivity, DVD-like menus.

DivX
DivX™ is a new format for digital video, much like MP3 is a format for digital music. DivX™ is the brand name of a patent-pending video compression technology created by DivXNetworks, Inc., (also known as Project Mayo). The DivX™ codec is based on the MPEG-4 compression standard. This codec is so advanced that it can reduce an MPEG-2 video (the same format used for DVD or Pay-Per-View) to ten percent of its original size. DivX.com.
The glossary is a little out of date, in that Divx is not really "new" anymore.
