    Hello,

Hoping someone can help me out with a couple of small problems.

I video'd the girls recital the other night. Transfered the video to the desktop the easiest way I had, via Windows Movie Maker. Played with it a bit, added some fade in/outs, some desciption, easy to do stuff in WMM.

My question though is this. There's a lot of glare in some of the long shots. Light reflecting off a glitter & rhinestones. Is there a way to reduce this?

Second, having shot it in the dark, it's graining in places. Can I clean this up?
Available software: WMM, TEMPec software, Adobe CS4.

Been a while since since I've done anything, so if you can be detailed in you reply, I'd be grateful.

    Hal

Glitter? not much you can do

Low light noise (grainy)? not much you can do.
Noise reduction causes blurring if overused.

What is your export goal? When you use WMM consider export to DV-AVI rather than default WMV.

  3. It will depend how bad it is

With glare & giltter you can often improve the image by using shadow/highlight filter, or HDR highlight compression in AE. Difficult cases can be rotoscoped and treated differentially

Targetted noise reduction can often improve results of low light grainy footage. It depends on what type of noise; chroma noise, grain size, etc... The built in noise reduction in CS4 aren't that good. Avisynth offers a variety of filters, but you'd have to post a sample to get more specific suggestions
