  1. Hi,

I have Pinnacle AV/DV capture card for a couple of years now but only recently I've stared to search for how I can digitalized my VHS with minimal loss of quality.
First of all I gave one of my tapes to the professionalist who uses some hardware DV encoder. Here's the result:

    Fine with me.

Then I tried to capture the same with my pinnacle card and huffyuv codec, and that's what I've got:

Why the difference is so huge? I thought the huffyuv codec is pretty much lossless, is the pinnacle card so crap? Any advice what I can do to get better results?

PS. Though my VCR is not the best quality it gives normal picture on the TV (as in the first picture).

  2. It's your capture card, not the codec. It may have proc amp settings where you can adjust, brightness, colors, etc.
