Hello everybody, I have a question, it's the first time i do this so bare with me please.
I have an NTSC dvd that i would like to add a subtitle to it and make it back a DVD. The thing is that I would like to make it a DVD that would run on PAL dvd players because i live in a country where we have PAL system.
This is how i think that i could do it:
    1. Use xilisoft dvd rip and make it avi. still at 29.97 fps
    2. Import the avi file in subtitle workshop to write the subtitle
    3. Use this tutorial to ad the subtitle to the avi file.
    4. The final step use a software to convert the avi file as a DVD.
What do you guy's think ? would everything go smooth ? what would you do if you were me ?

Most "PAL" dvd players/tvs supports NTSC so I wouldn't do any such conversion and you don't have to convert the video at all.

    Rip with DVDFAb decrypter.
Use vob2mpg to make a single mpg.
Make subtitle with subtitle workshop and the mpg.
Load the mpg and subtitle in an authoring app lika dvd flick, dvdstyler or guifordvdauthor. It should not reconvert.

You could even keep the original menu, https://forum.videohelp.com/threads/277950-How-to-add-new-subtitles-to-an-existing-DVD
