I have a bunch of subtitled mp4s I'm trying to make playable on my PS3, (with the subtitles.) I've found the best solution for subbed media is to just put it through multiAVCHD. However it didn't mux the soft subtitles from the mp4s. According to Mediainfo the subs are "timed text". I tried extracting the subs with mp4UI but it was unable to read them properly. MP4Box successfully demuxed them as .ass. What's going on here?

Multiavchd supports ass/ssa subs. Tried add the ass together with the mp4?

Or does the ass not contain any subs? Check with a text editor.

Ok this is really weird, I was wrong about the .ass. mp4box demuxed the subs track as a .ac3 file. I opened it in a text editor and the subs were there. I'm going to attach the aforementioned .ac3 file. What is the deal here? Here's the mediainfo log too:

Apparently the subs are Timed Text (TTXT). Yamb is able to convert them to srt on the fly when demuxing them. Problem solved!
