    My daughter pushed on the lid mechanism while tape transport was in motion and now the tape is stuck inside and the lid will not close. Is there a way to unjam the tape without having to send it to a repair center? I can't find any technical manuals about this issue.

    If this cam is going to be used extensively in the future, I'd drop it off at the lab anyway for the pros to deal with. You'll probably make matters worse by DIY

    I agree with zoobie .i sent mine to Canon (it was under warranty at that time) few years ago with the same issue .They sent it back to me in less than 10 days with the tape .lucky they didn't damage it
