Is there 1 simple 2 make a VCD or SVCD???

I am totally confused as to how to make a dl movie play on the TV!
I hear about codec,divx, do this try this, cut avi to fit ,dvd2avi, dvdx all in one, NTSC,PAL, Bitrate need to know.....

Is there one simple way to make a downloaded movie play on your TV?
Instructions start to finish. Everyone seems to have a different way of doing it and then someone posts a reply "do it this way". Its very confusing , I've never burned a move but I want to very bad.
The tool section suggest different software to use but I have no idea which ones to use!!!

Also whats the difference between avi-mpg-mov-asf-rom-mpeg formats?
Can any of these be burned and watched on a tv? If not which format then?

hey man go to tools /downloads section ok and download dvd2svcd ok the only program u need is either cce encoder or the best and easy one is the newest version of tmpnge encoder ok preffablly have a crack version ( dvdsoft.net!!) and everything is in the bundle select the folders and press start a couple of hours later ull have 2-3 images to burn with fireburner or cdr win ok simple stuff!
