  1. I need to add 30 minute video clips on my site. I have seen WMV, FLV, and MP4 as possilbe formats to use. I will also be burning to DVD and selling the DVD's to people that want them, so don't want to have to convert these files twice. The video will be coming from a high end video camera that records to a SDHC card in AVHCD format. Any suggestions?

You have to convert twice because mpeg2/mpeg1 DVD video that is required for DVD-Video wont work that fine on your site.

For sites use MP4 or FLV with h264 video and AAC audio together with a flash player like flowplayer. Convert with a x264 frontend like handbrake or xvid4psp.

  3. This is a new venture for me, so am a bit of a newb. I do have Adobe Premiere Pro CS4, so can I assume this will import the video and then save in the appropriate format? Are you saying I will have to import the video, process it (trim, add titles, etc) then save as FLV for the website, and then save as some other format to burn to DVD?

I really need some guidance and may not totally understand what I am getting into, but I thought it would work best to import, process, then save in WMV (I saw this being used on a few other sites) and put the WMV on the server and also burn to DVD. I also know that 98% of computers have Flash capabilities, so am also considering using FLV for the website and something else to burn to DVD. Hope this makes sense.
