I have a series of great shows on x264 format (1.5GB each). I generally use my Philips 5982 DVD player or my PS3 to play Divx movies. What are my best options to get these x264 files working on the latter machines?

What container do the videos use? (If they're 1.5GB each and h264, I'm guessing they're MKV, possibly MP4.)

If they're already AVI, I use AutoGK to recompress the video to DivX/Xvid + MP3 for my Phillips 5990 (and the 642 before that). For MKV, I've been using AVIDemux, but it can take a bit of getting used to, and may not work with all MKVs, at least in my experience.

It might be easier just to use Xvid4PSP if you're wanting to create DivX/Xvid AVIs capable of working on both your 5982 and the PS3, especially if the source isn't in AVI containers. If they're MKV, you can also try MKV2VOB to remux the MKV into a pseudo-VOB file that will probably work on the PS3. Other players might have a problem with such VOB files, though.
